The story of \u201cFlying Lotus\u201d \u2014 of \u201cAn\u201d \u2014 and of a journey that turned toward painting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the afternoon of June 21, Hanoi was under a light rain. Raindrops fell slowly, like brushstrokes bleeding gently across the surface of the streets. And as if by chance, within the quiet space of B&C Maison d\u2019Art, stories of \u201cFlying Lotus,\u201d of \u201cAn,\u201d and of artist Hu\u1ef3nh Th\u1ed1ng Nh\u1ea5t\u2019s journey turning toward painting were shared in a way that felt intimate, complete, and deeply moving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The talk unfolded softly, without fanfare \u2014 much like the spirit within his paintings. The artist did not appear to \u201cpresent\u201d or \u201cexplain\u201d his works, but to share a life journey \u2014 one in which painting arrived like a long-awaited appointment already destined to happen. Having spent years studying in France and England, and having lived while absorbing the spirit of Tibetan Buddhism, Hu\u1ef3nh Th\u1ed1ng Nh\u1ea5t came to painting with a free heart, contemplative eyes, and a soul constantly in search of serene beauty. For him, painting is not merely creation; it is a way of returning \u2014 returning to himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then, the lotus appeared.
