Phạm An Hải (Born in 1967, Vietnam) graduated from the Vietnam University of Fine Arts in 1995 and received a Master’s degree in Painting in 2006. He is regarded as one of the representative figures of contemporary Vietnamese abstract painting.After a transitional period from figurative expression toward a more expressive visual language (1998–1999), since 2000 Phạm An Hải has remained committed to abstraction as a means of conveying deep emotion and inner experience.
nspired by both natural and urban landscapes, his works do not aim to reproduce reality but rather transform it into rhythmic structures rich in sensation and movement. For Phạm An Hải, structure lies at the heart of creation—where mood, tonal variation, and emotion merge into a distinctive pictorial language.
In addition to exhibitions in Vietnam, he has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the United Kingdom, Thailand, Japan, and the United States. His works are included in several museum collections as well as in important private collections both in Vietnam and internationally.
